Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Trainex ("Trainex", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use the Trainex mobile application and related services (the "App"). We've written it to be readable — not just legally complete.
By creating an account or using the App, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

01 What we collect
We only collect what we need to run the App and personalize your experience. This includes:

| AI interactions | Messages you send to the in-app AI coach and the meal images/descriptions you submit for analysis (see §5). |
| Purchases | Subscription status and entitlements. Payment is handled by Apple or Google — we never receive your full card details. |
| Device & diagnostics | Device model, operating system, app version, language/region, crash reports, and performance data. |
| Technical | IP address, approximate region, and timestamps generated when the App connects to our servers. |
02 How we use your data
- To provide core features — tracking workouts, nutrition, hydration and progress, and syncing them across your devices.
- To personalize plans, recommendations, statistics, muscle heatmaps and AI coaching.
- To power social features — friends, challenges, rankings and leaderboards.
- To process subscriptions and restore purchases.
- To keep the App secure and reliable — preventing abuse, rate-limiting, fixing crashes and bugs.
- To communicate with you about service updates, and (only if you opt in) news and tips.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your health or fitness data for advertising.
03 Legal bases (GDPR / UK GDPR)
If you are in the EEA or UK, we process your data under these legal bases: performance of a contract (to deliver the App you signed up for), consent (e.g., camera access, optional marketing — which you can withdraw at any time), legitimate interests (keeping the App secure and improving it), and legal obligation (e.g., retaining transaction records).
04 Who we share data with
We share data only with the service providers ("sub-processors") that help us run Trainex. They may only process your data on our instructions:

We may also disclose data if required by law, to protect our rights or users' safety, or as part of a business transfer (e.g., a merger), in which case we'll notify you.
05 AI features
Trainex includes an AI coach and an AI meal scanner. When you use these, the text or image you submit is sent to a third-party AI provider to generate a response. We do not use your private conversations to train third-party models, and AI outputs are estimates for guidance only — not professional, medical, or nutritional advice. Always verify important nutrition information.
06 Camera & photos
Camera and photo-library access is used only for features you choose to use: scanning meals or barcodes, setting a profile picture, or saving progress photos. We request permission before accessing your camera, and you can revoke it any time in your device settings. Progress photos are private to your account unless you explicitly share them.
07 Social & public information
If you use social features, certain information is visible to other users — typically your username, avatar, rank, and leaderboard stats. Workouts or achievements are private unless you choose to share them. Please don't share anything in public areas you wouldn't want others to see.
08 Data retention & deletion
We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data from our live systems and remove it from backups within 30 days, except where we must keep limited records to meet legal or financial obligations (for example, proof of a transaction). We may keep anonymized, aggregated statistics that can no longer identify you.

09 Your rights & choices
Depending on where you live (including under GDPR and the California CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data (most is editable in the App).
- Delete your account and data.
- Export / port a copy of your data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent.
- Not be sold — and we confirm we do not sell personal data.
To exercise any of these, email trainextheapp@gmail.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
10 Children's privacy
Trainex is not intended for children under 13 (or under 16 where required by local law). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
11 International data transfers
We and our providers may process your data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect your data.
12 Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit (TLS), row-level access controls on our database, hashed passwords, and least-privilege access for our systems. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work continuously to safeguard your information. If a breach affects you, we will notify you as required by law.
13 Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the App evolves. We'll change the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify you in the App or by email. Continuing to use Trainex after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
